Support for the people and regions affected by the off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake

Minebea Co., Ltd. (“Minebea”) announced today that it has decided to provide JPY 50 million to earthquake relief donation to the people and regions affected by the off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake to support recovery efforts in the communities affected by the earthquake and tsunamis. In the meantime, Minebea Group employees are now running their fund-raising campaign to supplement the donation.

Regarding the Establishment of New Plant in Cambodia

Newly establishes a motor production plant to reinforce the production network in Asia ~ Minebea Co., Ltd. (“Minebea”) announces that it has officially decided to newly establish a volume production plant in Cambodia, which is the first plant as a Japanese-funded component manufacturer, to meet demand for small-sized motors, etc. that is expected to grow in the future. It is for the first time in seventeen years after setting up its Shanghai plant in China in 1994 that the Company will establish a large-scale production site in a new region. Minebea will invest approx. 5 billion yen for the establishment of the new plant, which is expected to commence operations in April 2011.

(“Minebea”) has recently developed a next-generation input device dubbed “COOL LEAF”, which is overall flat and can be used for input devices—such as keyboards, remote controllers and calculators—in collaboration with Kazuo KAWASAKI, Ph. D. (Design Director, Doctor of medical science).

Announcement of the conclusion of a Business Transfer Agreement between Minebea Co., Ltd. and Panasonic Corporation regarding the transfer of Information Equipment Motor Business

Minebea Co., Ltd. (“Minebea”) and Panasonic Corporation (“Panasonic”) hereby announce that both companies have reached a definitive agreement, announced in their November 2, 2009 press release entitled “Announcement of a Basic Agreement between Minebea Co., Ltd. and Panasonic Corporation regarding the transfer of Information Equipment Motor Business,” and entered into a Business Transfer Agreement today.
